Tau Dance Theater is accepting entries of dance choreography for grades K-6, 7–12 (Youth), 18+ above (“Up-&-Coming”/ nonprofessional), and Professional. Works may be in any genre, and have to have been created between Jan. 1, 2008 – March 1, 2009. Adults may not choreograph Youth category entries. When: Applications accepted from January 1 -March 1, 2009 How: Please send a VHS or DVD of work, application form, and entrance fee - $10.00 K-12, $20.00 18+, $50.00 Professional to: Tau Dance Theater P.O. Box 1878 Honolulu, HI 96805-1878 Award: Cash Awards will be given out in all five categories: K-6 Prize - 1st, 2nd, 3rd - Trophy and certificate 7-12 Prize – 1st $150.00, 2nd $75.00, 3rd $50.00 Pohuli - $250.00 18+ “Up & Coming” – Non- Professional - $500.00 Professional - $1,000.00 Competition in all genres of western dance form choreography including: Ballet, Modern, Hula, Jazz, Tap, Ballroom, Street/Hip-Hop, or “Pohuli”. Priority will be given to works that are “Pohuli” in nature, which is of a Hawaiian theme and base mixed with western form influences and new works.
